The Adult Education Society in Belgrade successfully completed a project that utilized distance-learning technology to improve the employability of people with paraplegia in Serbia.

In cooperation with various disability associations, the society identified 48 participants to take part in a specially-developed range of courses, of between 4 and 6 months duration.

Courses covered subjects such as Web programming, Management, System Administration and Database design, with over 30% of participants successfully completing the trainings.

In technological terms, this was a pioneering project in the area of additional training for marginalised groups in Serbia, a country that is home to over 700.000 people with disabilities.
